Help

Many service number providers receive prank calls and junk calls which have no content relevance and are only a waste of time and money. With CallGuard, you can place unwanted junk callers on a blacklist automatically or manually. Callers from blocked numbers hear the announcement "Diese Rufnummer ist von Ihrem Anschluss nicht erreichbar" (This number is not available from your line). You can also order CallGuard for a surcharge – please call the hotline + 49(0)1803 301 990 (EUR 0.09/min. From fixed network, maximum EUR 0.42/ min. from mobile networks) or contact your customer advisor. CallGuard is deactivated as standard. You can activate it by ticking the "Activate CallGuard" checkbox on the CallGuard page.

Configuring CallGuard - managing blacklist

You can specify the size of the blacklist yourself. Enter the number you desire in the input field next to “Maximum number of phone numbers in the blacklist” in the bottom right-hand corner. The maximum number of phone numbers which can be entered in the blacklist varies according to the variant of CallGuard used. Once the maximum number of entries is reached, the oldest blocked entry will be overwritten. Depending on how large your blacklist is, this takes place after a shorter or a longer time interval.

Blocking or activating phone numbers manually

Blocking phone numbers: To manually block individual numbers, enter the number in the input field at the bottom left. Enter all the digits of the phone number here one after the other, without hyphens, spaces or similar separators. Then click on the “Block” button. The number then stays permanently on the blacklist after the CallGuard data is sent if you have not specified your own activation cycle. (With regard to this, please read the description below.) If the number should be taken out of your activation cycle and be permanently blocked, before sending the CallGuard data activate the check box next to “Exclude from automatic unblocking”. You are shown the number of phone numbers that are currently manually blocked above the input window. These are manually blocked numbers that are excluded from automatic activation, i.e., which are never deleted.

Activating phone numbers: In order to activate individual numbers with immediate effect, enter the number in the input field [2] and click on the “Unblock” button.

Blocking or activating numbers automatically

You can automatically filter out and block junk calls. You or your employees can often identify repeated junk calls after a few seconds and then terminate the call. All calls which are terminated by you or your employees within a defined time period after connection is established are automatically identified as junk calls. The phone numbers from these calls are automatically blocked. To do this, enter a number of seconds (up to a maximum of 60 seconds) on the right-hand side in the input field [3] next to “Put calls with less than [...] seconds on blacklist”. Defining the activation cycle yourself: You can define yourself the cycle in which the blacklist is deleted again. To do this, select the cycle in which the blacklist is to be deleted in the drop-down menu [4] next to “Unblock” on the right-hand side.

  • No unblocking: The blacklist is not deleted.

  • Daily: The blacklist is deleted on a daily basis. For this, enter the corresponding time in the following form: hh:mm.

  • Weekly: The blacklist is deleted once a week. For this, select the corresponding day of the week from the drop-down menu "Day" and enter the time.

  • Monthly: The blacklist is deleted once a month. For this, select the corresponding date (1st to 31st of the month) from the drop-down menu "Day" and enter the time.  Please note the conditions for CallGuard stipulated in the GT&C (AGB) for freecall, Shared Cost and Local Service Call. You can view and download these from the Internet at www.telekom.de/agb.

Using CallGuard with the weekly schedule

The phone number block can be adapted to your usual working hours. To do this, activate the checkbox at the top next to “Control with the following time window”. You can either copy an existing weekly schedule for CallGuard or create a separate weekly schedule specifically for CallGuard. To set up a separate weekly schedule for CallGuard, use the existing input fields. If you wish to use an existing weekly schedule, select it from the drop-down menu next to “Copy existing periodic time window here”.  You can transfer this schedule. CallGuard is then only activated during your working hours. You can also modify the existing schedule. These changes will only apply to Call- Guard and are independent from you pre-defined weekly schedules. This means that if you have defined in your weekly schedules that your working hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and you change this time to between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. in CallGuard, your original weekly schedule is still set to the time period between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
